4.5 stars in my opinion. I have been going here on and off for 20 years, many of the people that were there when I started going are still there; both staff and attendants giving the place a sense of community. Universal provides a real sense of warmth to their customers when it comes to front of house staff. They have tons of options for classes and equipment, there is something for you here and you will never have to wait. Everything is also immaculately clean. However, I find their administrative staff to be stiff and inflexible at times, not that I or anyone deserve special treatment, but you would think that 20 years of attendance would have them be more flexible with some policies at times. Also a nice benefit of going here is the reward system, mine was messed up in their system, I asked them to fix it multiple times and they didn’t. That’s a small price to pay though when you have staff that care about knowing you and supporting you on a personal basis. You can always count on Kelly at the smoothie bar to give you a warm smile and greeting. For example here is a smoothie she made me during finals weeks. It’s people like her and acts like that can make an ordinary place extraordinary. Thank you Kelly and everyone else!

My favorite place! You can spend half a day here if you want. Has everything you can possibly imagine - hydro massage chairs, cafe, dry and wet sauna, pools with all kinds of different temperatures and cold plunge, gym, tons of classes to choose from, some are included in the membership and some have to be paid for separately, childcare (kids club), programs for toddlers, kids, seniors, towel service, beauty salon, AI based gym, nutrition coaching - I can go on and on! They help you be consistent and help you along your fitness journey. I haven’t seen a gym with a more personalized approach. I feel like everyone who works there is my friend. All the fitness instructors are fit and healthy and they are friendly, help you and answer all of your questions. We go there with my whole family and we love getting protein shakes after!

All the staff here are amazing, the facility is clean, lots to do, I want to thank Jennifer for helping me on my first day and she is always so nice to me and the people, all the staff here are amazing, best gym in Lancaster PA.

I used to belong to Planet Fitness and loved it but decided to leave after a few creepy interactions. I have been so impressed with my experience at Universal. I look forward to going every day. The staff is always friendly, the gym is always clean, members are respectful and serious about fitness. I have been pleasantly surprised to see how many strong women of all ages work out here! It really inspires me. I wouldn’t change a thing about this place

I joined Universal athletic club about four months ago and I have not looked back. After struggling with a lack of motivation athletic wise I jumped between planet fitness formula and crunch but still never managed to find motivation to keep going. When I moved to the area awhile ago, my friends have been going to Universal but I just never really wanted to join because of the cost. After joining I will say that I regret not sure any sooner because for the cost you get so much more at this gym then I found it any other gym in the whole US to be honest. When I first came I was greeted by the very friendly staff and was actually given a 20 minute tour in depth, which I thought was phenomenal. I chose to sign up for the upgraded membership which actually allows me to bring a guest every single day for free as well as towel service and use of the Hydro massage beds. The gym has two saunas a eucalyptus steam room as well as a studio for almost anything you could think of exercise wise. This place is insanely huge. One of the coolest parts about this gym is the hydraulic machines which is pretty cool tech. I also find it sick that I can get a whole milkshake or a smoothie and sandwich made at the gym right after my workout. So far I’ve lost about 7 pounds which is 12% of my goal but that is much more progress that I’ve made in the last multiple years so I hope to continue to come here and work out with my friends to lose weight. If you want to join a gym with a great environment with friendly smiling staff, I think you should check this place out it’s pretty cool. 😎

So much more than a gym. Universal is truly is a fitness Disneyland for the entire family. The sports performance coaches (Charlie and Matt) have helped my son find his own way to loving fitness and become stronger and more confident. Life changing for sure ❤️❤️

The entire team at UAC is outstanding, but Jesslyn truly shines by going above and beyond. While many simply complete their tasks and clock out, she takes those extra steps to ensure you're progressing optimally—pushing you to excel without risking injury or burnout.

My experience with Universal was a great one. The ONLY con of this gym is that it can be on the expensive side. However, the price is well worth it if you actually go to the gym every day. [What do I get?] Universal Athletic Center (UAC) offers a large number of classes with your membership. It also offers a large number of exercise machines, freeweights and slightly more exotic equipment (sleds, punching bags, medicine balls, ropes, etc.) However, there is no strongman equipment as of this review. There is also a registered dietician on site as well as a salon and a nice food bar. The hydro massage units cost extra to use, but are extremely nice to have. [How is the staff?] In my experience, the staff at Universal is it's strongest selling point. Alison and Beth were great to me as were the rest of the staff. I was able to change memberships when I needed to and they were great about me cancelling when I had to move out of the area. [Is the gym worth it?] I would say that UAC is 100% worth it. The gym is huge, the classes are great and the equipment is well maintained and seems quite clean. The only con is that the gym can be expensive and charges biweekly. If you use the gym then this is definitely worth it. If you want something to help convince you go to the gym then this will be a great excuse for you. I miss UAC and haven't really seen too many other gyms that offer as much as it does. I highly recommend UAC.

Truly the best fitness center period. Everything is clean, the staff is friendly, there are so many different areas to workout and get active in so there is something for everyone! Our 9’year old loves kids club and will ask to go to the gym so he can play there! The aquatic center and functional strength rooms are my favorite!! Half of me wants to give it a bad review just to keep people away from my favorite place. My significant other is not a gym guy but he actually will go on his own and enjoys it which is saying a lot!

My husband and me, and our now 2 adult children, have been members for years, and decided to share our experience. We wouldn't go any place else! This is not just a gym, it's a complete wellness center with so many benefits offered for encouraging fitness and good health. The cost is well worth it! Great staff, very friendly, caring and knowledgeable. You feel like you're part of a community, and not just a gym. Always updating equipment, and many perks are included in your membership. The addition of the Renewal Center is amazing! Red light therapy, Bemer, lymphatic compression, oxygen cycling, and more! The Owner genuinely cares and has a passion for encouraging good health, and a desire to be the best! We highly recommend it!
